Homogenization theory studies the large-scale behavior of the operator with random or periodic coefficients. In recent years, many quantitative results in this direction emerge. This talk introduces the basic idea of this theory, and its application in numerical algorithm and some stochastic models (percolation cluster, interacting particle systems).
