Prof. Shuai Lu's Profile:

Prof. Shuai LU has been engaged in systematical research on inverse problems for a long time. His main academic achievements include: 1. Convergence analysis of the regularization methods for inverse problems. For the L-curve method, the convergence is established by calibrating the modulus of continuity sophisticatedly; a multi-penalty regularization scheme is proposed and its convergence is proven. 2. Well-posedness and inversion algorithms for parameter identification of partial differential equations. One inverse problem based on nonlinear diffusion equations is studied where uniqueness is proven and a gradient-descent inversion algorithm is constructed. The multi-frequency inverse source problem of the Helmholtz equation is systematically studied, where an increasing stability is obtained by the multi-frequency boundary measurements. One of his results was commented as " the first available error bound"; an ICM invited speaker commented that their same assertion “was also observed” in his paper; he was commented that " the idea was firstly proposed" to decompose the boundary measurement of the wave equation in the frequency domain. He has co-authored one English monograph and 37 research papers, which have been cited 246 times by other researchers. In 2015 and 2017, he is supported by the NSFC Excellent Youth Grant and an Integration Project of NSFC Major Research Projects. In 2016, he is awarded by the Changjiang Scholars Program (Young Scholars).
