This talk is concerned with several mixed initial-boundary valueproblems for a damped wave equation in one space dimension withvariable coefficients both in time and space, which contain temporalderivatives of second order in the boundary conditions. Globalwellposedness for these problems and uniform exponential decay ofthe associated energies are discussed.
