Abstract:

Computational medicine is an emerging cross-disciplinary field. In this lecture, we will touch some essential parts of these parts, which include computational neuroanatomy, brain connectome, and imaging genetics, and their applications to neurology and psychiatry. First, several novel methods on segmentations of brain tissue and anatomical substructures, brain image registration, and shape analysis will be presented. Then, we will present some current progress on brain connectivity, which includes anatomical connectivity based on diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), functional connectivity with functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), especially in the rest state. They focus on abnormal patterns of brain connectivity of patients with various brain disorders, including Alzheimer’s diseases, Schizophrenia, early blind and deaf, compared with matched normal controls. Finally,
