Abstract:

In these two talks, I first explain a theory of metric measure geometry due to Gromov, which is suitable to study the asymptotic behavior of a sequence of Riemannian manifolds with unbounded dimension. In one of our main theorems, we observe the phase transition phenomenon in such a sequence provided that the manifolds in the sequence has high symmetry.  We also study critical scale limits in the phase transition for spheres and projective spaces.
