The  Choi and Schoen's compactness theorem says that the set of compact minimal surfaces with a genus bound in a compact 3-manifold of positive curvature must be compact with respect to smooth convergence topology. In this talk, I will discuss some natural generalizations to some complete noncompact Riemannian manifolds with positive Bakry-Emery curvature.
