We give a number of basic results of the classical Calder/'on-Zygmund theory of singular integrals, including the H/"ormander condition for the weak type (1,1) estimate of a linear operator which is bounded on the space $L^2 (X)$ where $X$ is the Euclidean space $/mathbb R^n$, or more general, a space of homogeneous type.
