It is known that both the Mordell–Lang conjecture and the Medvedev–Scanlon–Zhang conjecture were proved for abelian varieties, and later extended to semi-abelian varieties. In this talk, I will describe some natural generalizations to certain commutative algebraic groups. This is joint work with Dragos Ghioca, Thomas Scanlon, and Umberto Zannier.
