In this talk, we will discuss the celebrated result of Sack-Uhlenbeck for n=2 and the Uhlenbeck’s result for n>3 on harmonic maps by a perturbation method. In particular, we will apply the method with applications to relaxenergy for harmonic maps. Finally, we will discuss the perturbation method of applications to minimizing p-harmonic maps in homotopic class.
