This series aims to provide an introduction to the Kahler-Ricci flow (KRF) on compact Kahler manifolds. We shall first present the maximal existence theorem of the KRF, and then explore its long-time convergence and singularity type on minimal Kahler surfaces, which heavily depend on the Kodaira dimension and complex structure.
