In this talk, I'll survey the recent results in Nevanlinna theory and Diophantine approximation. I'll focus on the extension of H. Cartan's Second Main Theorem in Nevanlinna theory, as well as the extension of Schmidt's subspace theorem in Diophantine approximation.
