In this talk, we discuss the dynamics of solitary wave, traveling wave and periodic wave solutions for some shallow water wave equations and reaction-diffusion models by using the method of dynamical system, especially the geometric singular perturbation theory and invariant manifold theory as well as Abelian integral and asymptotic theory.
