摘要:We will discuss the asymptotic behaviors of principle eigenvalues for second order elliptic operstors with large drift. In the case of divergence free drift, we will propose certain functional associated with principal eigenfunctions of elliptic operator and its adjoint. The functional can be applied to establish the monotonicity of the principal eigenvalue, as a function of the drift amplitude. Other appications of such functional will also be discussed. The talk will be accessible to graduate students.
个人简介:楼元,1988年毕业于北京大学数学系,获学士学位; 1995年毕业于明尼苏达大学,获博士学位; 1995-1998在MSRI和芝加哥大学任博士后; 1998年起在俄亥俄州立大学任教,现任俄亥俄州立大学数学系教授,研究领域为偏微分方程和生物数学。 他的研究工作获得多项科学基金资助并多次应邀在国际会议做大会报告。自2009年起担任《Discrete Cont. Dynamical System-B》主编,并为《SIAM J Appl Math》,《J Differential Equations》, 《J Math Biology》等期刊编委。
