The Division of Applied Mathematics is mainly consisted of faculty committed to applied mathematical teaching and research, who belong to the School of Mathematical Sciences of Fudan University. At present, the Division of Applied Mathematics owns a comprehensive team for teaching and research, including a group of academic pioneers with wide influence both home and abroad, such as Professor Li Daqian, Academician in Chinese Academy of Sciences. At present, the total number of faculty is 23, including 8 professors. The major research areas are as follow: applied partial differential equations, industrial and applied mathematics, mathematical method and application of neural network, nonlinear science, calculate geometric and scattered data fitting, etc.. Through the efforts of generations, Applied Mathematics possesses outstanding features and advantages in talent development and scientific research, and remains for years the national pivotal discipline. Applied Mathematics has achieved many awards, including National Natural Science Award (second class and third class), National Prize for Progres in Science and Technology (first class), etc. In the team of young generation, there are winners of National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, as well as two Cheung Kong Scholar Chair Professors. We sincerely welcome scholars who aspire to be committed to the teaching and research of applied mathematics to join us in the construction of the Division of Applied Mathematics.

Mathematical method and application of neural network
It mainly studies neural networks and the recognition of nonlinear systems, application of neural networks in pattern recognition, signal separation and recognition.
