Commissioned by the Ministry of Education, Chinese Annals of Mathematics, an international and comprehensive journal in mathematics, was first published by School of Mathematics of Fudan University in 1980. It intends to publish papers of any and all questions of interest or importance in pure and applied Mathematics, exhibit the latest achievements in mathematics research and promote communication among mathematical communities. Currently, 10 issues are published annually both at home and abroad in 2 series whose contents won’t overlap with each other: series A is bimonthly published in Chinese, and series B is quarterly published in English.
The current chief editor is Prof. Li Ta-Tsien, with Prof. Su Buqing as honorary chief editor. The editorial board is made up of 31 outstanding domestic and foreign mathematicians, 13 of whom are academicians from China, the United States, France, Sweden and Canada and two of whom are Fields Prize winners. Six respected mathematicians are invited as Honorary editors.
 The journal exerts extensive and profound influence on mathematical sciences. It is one of core journals of natural science in China, cited or collected by a great many well-known journals and databases, For example, Mathematical Reviews (USA), SCIE, Zentralblatt für Mathematik (Germany), Abstract Journals (Russia), APAC, CSCI and so on.
 Since 2001, series B has been published jointly by Shanghai Scientific and Technological Literature Press and World Scientific Press in Singapore, the latter of which is exclusively responsible for its overseas distribution, the editorial office for its domestic distribution.  As for Series A, the Shanghai Press and Publication Department is responsible for its domestic distribution.
