The Financial crisis started in the middle of 2007 has been a focal topic for the past three years. This crisis has puzzled many investors, even some finance practitioners. It not only wiped out several major investment banks in US, but also knocked down financial innovation oriented countries like Iceland. After the crisis, many financial institutions have realized the instrumental importance of risk management system, which includes the policy, procedures and risk culture.
Dr. Yong Wang will critically analyze the cause and true issues relate to this financial crisis in his lecture; explain the profound impact of the crisis and provide a forward looking outlook on future development of the financial market. In particular, he will spend time to discuss the latest market practices such as Credit Value Adjustments, and Incremental Risk Charges etc.
In the final part of his lecture, Dr. Yong Wang will introduce the newly published book “Risk Management and Financial Institutions” (2ed edition) written by Professor John Hull, translated by Yong Wang.
