In this talk, we will review some analytical studies on the inertial liquid crystal models, such as Ericksen-Leslie and Qian-Sheng models. The key point is these models keep an inertial term, which make the corresponding system is a mixed hyperbolic-parabolic system coupled with Navier-Stokes equations. We discuss the well-posedness in classical solution framework, and the zero inertial limits. These works are joint with Yi-long Luo and Shaojun Tang.
